Walking along the path & around the bend, you find an island being tucked in for the night by the soft violet clouds on the horizon & you hear the tidal lullaby. This piece was inspired by an evening walk along the Shore Path of Bar Harbor. Walking the mudflats, listening to the lapping salty waves, & breathing in the quiet joy that Maine's landscape offers us were all moments of inspiration for this "Sweeping Skies" Collection. My intentions were to create a body of work that gently encourages us to let go of the added weight this past year has cloaked us with & allow that heaviness to float away with the salty breeze, into the soft, sweeping skies. Because it's time. It's time to be with our people, our family, our friends once again & celebrate love & connection & belonging. Summer time in Maine brings us together & this summer let's savor it. This collection of work captures the places that reunite us on the edges of Casco Bay & Mt. Desert Narrows.
