Description
Chinese porcelain Fu bats & dogs wine server, finely drawn details, all in a gold on red glaze, decorate the exterior. The interior & inset base are glazed in white. The spout is shaped as an elephant trunk, the stepped neck has lappets of leaves at the top, geometric, meander & floral borders below, & ends in a collar of Ru Yi lappets at its base. Three Fu dogs are glazed in gold on the body amid stylized flames & ribboned medallions, the funnel top is glazed with four gold Fu bats amid stylized clouds & flames with a band of floral medallions on the side. The foot is has an ornate Ru Yi border at the top, a meander border below, ending in cartouches of Buddhist symbols quartered on the extended foot amid a tiled lattice. A blue, six character, Qianlong reign mark in Zhuanshu script is glazed on the deep inset base. Circa early 20th century, no later than mid century. Excellent vintage condition.
