The insert is especially made firm by us here at The Cardiac Bear in Springfield Ohio. We make them firm enough to so that when the patients apply pressure to the pillow against their chest, it will help hold their stitches in place while they cough, laugh, or move around; & yet soft enough to be comfortable during all stages of surgery recovery & beyond.
