Vintage lithograph print of a young woman laying on grass. Beautiful & nostalgic. Artist name: Franz HANFSTAENGL, Munich, Germany Print maker: Wofgang Muller Year: There is a year mark left by the printmaker. The numbers looks like 1914, but, based on the model's clothing (her knees are showing), I would think it has to be 1948. Other prints I found by him are mostly 1920s & 1930s. Either 1918 or 1948 could be possible, without knowing his biography. Studio printed lithograph. Not a mass produced offset lithograph. Frame Size: 14.5" wide x 15" long. When you research the artist, you will find a long list of old style (antique) portraits by Franz HANFSTAENGL (1804 - 1877), Munich, with detailed biography. I believe the 2 artists with the same name are likely related (father & son, or grandfather), or pure coincidence. Because of the older portrait artist is more famous, often this younger artist's works are being credited to the other artist. Although both excellent artists, the younger one signed his original art with F©H, & that is what you find on the right bottom corner. Framed in simple old wooden frame. There is dirt (possibly mold) on the white, but covered under a glass. It would not bother me, but if it does, please consider restoration. Priced accordingly.
