Protein Powder Homemade Hermit Crab Food This protein heavy mix is a recommended staple for your tank! It includes more than 75% Protein & a healthy dose of calcium! I feed a protein mix every day in my tanks - in addition to their balanced meal mixes. Ingredients: Organic Crab & Lobster Shell, Crushed Grasshoppers, Crushed & Whole Mealworms, Powdered Dehydrated Beef Liver, Powdered Dehydrated Minnows, Organic Chia Seeds, Organic Flax Seeds, Crushed & Whole Freeze Dried Shrimp, Crushed & Whole Black Soldier Fly Larvae, Crushed Crickets, Crushed Peanuts. Small Bag - 2.7 x 3.5 Inches - Approximately 0.40 - 0.50 ounces Medium Bag - 3.5 x 5.1 Inches - Approximately 1.70- 1.90 ounces. Weights may vary by batch very slightly. Popcorn mixes are not complete meal mixes - they are intended to be added as an extra snack or treat. Feed alongside a balanced meal mix, or a protein source. We have never shipped an order past the Etsy promised time. Food Preparation: To ensure freshness, I make all foods in small batches 4-5 days a week. I am trained in human food safety & use the same standards for the food I prepare for hermit crabs, however THIS FOOD IS NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION. I store all food ingredients, food & preparation materials in an area specially set aside for hermit crab food preparation. The ingredients used are a combination of freeze dried & dehydrated items. Some ingredients used are purchased ingredients & some are home grown or foraged. If an item is foraged, it is sanitized with a wash in dechlorinated water & then is frozen or baked to ensure it is safe for the crabs. All items are preservative & additive free. Foods that are certified organic or that are grown by me are listed as such. Feeding Amount: I recommend serving approximately ¼ teaspoon per 2 crabs. Protein is absolutely essential in the hermit crab diet, so I recommend always feeding an extra protein every day - dried or fresh. Hermit crabs love variety but eat very little at a time so small servings of many items seems to work best in my experience. Storage: Food should be stored in a cool & dark area. Keep bags fully sealed to ensure freshness or transfer to a sealed container. Food will last at least 1
