LARGE 1910 Amethyst Cameo MOP Amethyst Bead 20"Necklace, Unbelievable Glass Beauty! Bacchante Grapes, Dangling Festoon Purple Grapes, Leaves, One of a Kind OOAK! She is vey sensuous, with no clothing showing. The grapes denote love of Bacchante god of wine. Extreme amount of unblemished detail to Amethyst cameo with 4 grape clusters with leaves in her hair. The majority of time it looks black; but you can see purple when it catches the light. I have seen similar large cameos to this in diamond settings go for $16,400. This beauty in on a 150 year old large smooth Mother of Pearl Brooch. I have added an adapter & a dangling vintage festoon of purple grapes & leaves. The 1 1/2" long antique amethyst handmade beads with handmade purple spacers are about 100 years old. Just Beautiful! Foiled Cameo on brooch is 2" x 1 1/3" x 3/4" thick., the Cameo itself is 1 2/3" x 1 1/4" x 3/4" thick. I purchased these unused molded glass cameos (30+) from a Paris Workshop closed in 1910.
