Description About Rama Avatar of Vishnu in Hinduism, Rama (Sanskrit: Rāma) or Ramacandra (Sanskrit: ; Rāmacandra) is a famous legendary king from India who is said to have lived during the Tretayuga era, descended from the Surya dynasty or Suryawangsa. He came from the Kingdom of Kosala whose capital city was Ayodhya. According to the Hindu view, he is the seventh avatar of Lord Vishnu who descended to earth during the Tretayuga era. Born as the eldest son of Raja Dasaratha & Kausalya, he is seen as Maryada Purushottama, which means "Perfect Man".
