This lovely polished egg shaped stone of Arizona Pietersite is 2.5 inches or 64 mm in height. This rare semi precious gemstone material is known as "Arizona Pietersite" because of its superb chatoyant cat's eye effect. It has also been called Arizona Tiger-eye. Stones cut from this material seem to glow with their own internal light. This gemstone material is not the same as the original Pietersite found in Africa, or the different material also known as Pietersite found in China. This is actually green Serpentine with veins of Chrysotile that give it the golden flash.
