Description
A nice hand thrown pottery bowl made by Northwest Studio potter Gary Johnson. He currently resides in Cle Elum, Washington where he is working primarily in jewelry. This hand made pottery bowl was likely made during his time at Pottery Northwest in Seattle. The surface has a freeform wavy combed design that wraps around the rim & inner shoulder of the bowl. Many of his vase forms have a carved or deeply combed surface design. This bowl has four corners on the rim & is glazed in a glossy translucent creamy pale yellow glaze. The underside has a speckled glossy glaze on the surface. It measures 10" wide by 2.25" tall at the rim. The base is signed Johnson. It is in nice original condition & has nice thickness with no signs of past use. A great pottery bowl for your Northwest studio pottery collection.
