Here is a Vintage Print from 1937 by American artist Thomas Hart Benton, (1889-1975). This print is entitled "Lassoing Horses" & depicts some cowboys doing just that. This print was part of a series of prints put out by the Brooklyn Museum of Art in 1937. Thomas Hart Benton was one of the leading figures of American Scene painting. He traveled throughout the United States seeking "authentically American" subject matter. He made this watercolor after watching a rodeo in Wyoming. Benton's undulating lines & loose brushstrokes convey the energetic struggle between the horses & cowboys. The print is mounted in a gold frame.
