Wonderful modernist earrings from the 1960s, by Finnish artist Jorma Laine. This design, often referred to as "Grouch," features distinctive faces inside rings that dangle from the original screwbacks. Jorma Laine's work was sophisticated yet whimsical, often complex in form & very wonderful to look at. These earrings are gilded bronze, one of Laine's favorite techniques. The backs of the earrings are stamped Bronze Jorma Laine Finland.
