Modernist desk lamp made in the 1940's by Jumo, an important company from France who used the best designers of their time. Jumo is known primarily for the Bolidus lamp & the Raymond Loewy desk lamp, but they continually produced innovative pieces onwards into the 1970's. The design is made so you can adjust the lamp without stress to the insulated wire, insuring a safe use. The quality stands beautifully in comparison to what we are familiar with today; the metal has a warmth that mass produced copies cannot duplicate. The design itself is so much more graceful & elegant, adding soul to your interior. This model, number 800 comes in two variations; single or double armed. Size H.22 inches, good antique condition, there is some scratches from normal use. Rewired with American socket, & new breaded cord. Some oxidation & wear expected for a vintage light.
