Soft Greeneyes Berlandiera Pumila The Soft Greeneye flowers grow naturally all over our farm! We did a little research on the flower to find it is also called the Chocolate Daisy. Why? Because it smells like chocolate! We didn't believe it, so we took our sniffers down hill to a big patch. Guess what? It does smell like chocolate! Just like a Hershey bar!! When the yellow flower first blooms, the green eye inside is visible. Once the tiny brown flowers inside of the inner circle start to bloom - now it smells like chocolate! It's a perennial flower that grows to about 1 to 3 ft tall. Multiple blooms will appear on one plant throughout the spring & summertime. It prefers shade, but grows pretty much everywhere! The preferred soil is sandy & free draining. This is another Florida Native plant that we cannot wait to spread everywhere!
