Vintage Japanese porcelain plate, an outstanding color scheme 'Gokusaishiki', depicted a typical Japanese painting motif. Never used, kept for years. The motif is Japanese apricot tree, iris, & bamboo, which are typical Japanese painting motifs, & the way to depict is also of Japanese painting. The color scheme on this plate is outstanding. This scheme is called 'Gokusaishiki ( the scheme with extremely rich colors)'. These vivid & strong colors remind me of the Japanese historically famous painter, Ito Jakuchu for example.
