This is an antique, bevel-matted engraving from Frank Leslie's Illustrated Newspaper, published in New York in 1883. The print is matted in an off-white acid free matte & is backed by a black acid free back-board which is NOT ATTACHED TO THE PRINT, but should be kept with the print when framed. The prints in this series have text on the reverse. TITLE: NEW YORK AN EVICTION SCENE AT DARBY'S PATCH in BROOKLYN ATTEMPTING EXPULSION OF AN ARMY OF SQUATTERS PUBLICATION DATE: 1883 ARTIST: NOT IDENTIFIED CONDITION: EXCELLENT This print is clear, clean & bright. No foxing, creasing, tears or folds. A really fine image. Excellent definition. Nice clean, sharp lines. This print is about 140 years old & guaranteed to be original. It's an authentic old print from the aforementioned publication, & NOT A REPRODUCTION. The visible part of the print is 7 1/4" x 9 3/4" (including the border around the print). Matted the print measures 11" x 14". This is a standard size matte that will fit into a standard size frameno costly custom frames required.
