This is a wonderful piece to gift to an art lover, decorator, traveler, etc. Kusama wrote to Georgia O'Keefe for advice on becoming a woman artist & she advised her to go to NYC-which she did. Her ideas were bold, fresh & highly influential to the artists of that time. She invented soft sculpture when Claus Oldenburg was doing hard sculpture. She repeated the same image like wall paper in her installations - which Andy Warhol began doing after seeing her exhibition. She is a trailblazer & I find her empowering as a woman artist. Of course now she is a highly celebrated artist & has exhibited in major museums across the globe. Vase is by Julie Wishmeyer. Julie has a B.F.A. from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
