This is a pair of 2 matching wooden candle holders, made in Germany in the 1950s. Heart base measures approximately 2" by 2" & the tallest bird is approximately 1-3/4". Typical loss of paint & normal use wear. Candle holders open approximately 3/8" across. Probably made for Christmas, but could also be used for Easter or Saint Valentine's Day. Please look at all the pictures as they area large part of the description & show you the condition better than I can describe.
