You want to remove all dirt, dust, & oils. 2. Brush on a thin even coat of your decoupage adhesive. You can use topcoat for furniture or Mod Podge 3. Be sure to cover the entire surface. Blank spots will cause bubbles 4. Smooth paper down using your hands, a piece of saran wrap, or a brayer. 5. Paint a thin layer of topcoat or Mod Podge over the top of the paper. 6. Ignore wrinkles, they will disappear as the paper dries.
