A stunning French Louis XV bombe marble-top chest of drawers commode from the 19th century, styled in the manner of Charles Cressent (France, 1685-1768), finished in luxurious Rocco taste, featuring exotic well figured burled wood, hand-crafted in a curvacious, exceptionally complex bombe form, fitted with two shapely contoured drawers, then adorned in lavish, exquisitely cast Neoclassical gilt bronze ormolu mounts, exuberant scrolling foliate pulls flank classical putti & flaming urn mounts, topped with a massive, luxuriously veined salmon serpentine shaped, contoured & beveled marble top. Provenance: Iconic Dallas, Texas decorator Ruth Gray Julian interiors. Dimensions: (approx) 40" High, 53" Wide, 23" Deep Large size & proportions, ideal for use as a bedroom dresser, sideboard server, credenza, hall console & more.
