Description

Patina Perfection!! A charming late Federal period American single drawer side table with beautifully aged patina, rich, warm antique cherrywood glow & superb grain figuring. circa 1820 Originating in the east coast region of the northeastern United States, almost surely New York, dating to the first half of the 19th century, featuring fairly primitive solid cherry-wood construction, having a two board plank top with beautiful rustic patina, over a single frieze drawer with hand cut dovetail joints & a most unusual molded serpentine shaped mahogany veneered drawer front, all elegantly rising on four long hand turned & carved octagonal form legs. Originally this table would have likely served as a writing desk or work bench, today it's good size & proportions allow it to be very versatile & used in just about any room in the home. Provenance: Acquired from a lovely Greenwich, Connecticut waterfront estate Dimensions: (approx) 28.5" High, 23" Wide, 18" Deep Good condition overall. Beautiful patina over the whole. Strong, sturdy, & stable. Wear & tear consistent with age & use, including imperfections such as scuffs, scratches, chips & losses to the veneer front drawer. None of the imperfections detract from the beauty but only add to the overall rustic charm & country appeal. Delivered cleaned, waxed, & ready for many more years of use.
