Offering a lovely "Byzantine Mosaic" style trinket box, all hand painted with real gold by the Deruta shop of Mario Sambuco. The mosaic texture, resembling small tiles, is created by Sgraffito carving in the ceramic before the box was fired & painted. The original label on the bottom has the firm name of Ceramiche D'Arte Mario Sambuco, Deruta, Italy, & states in Italian 'hand painted with gold.' Size: 3" diameter x 2" high. Condition: Excellent.
