This is a lovely creamy yellow vintage art nouveau pottery ewer or vase that could also be a serving pitcher. No marks on the base of this piece but it dates in style to the 1910s & maybe 1920s. The Art Nouveau style was characterized by artists wanting to modernize their designs, in order to get away from the eclectic historical styles that had previously been popular. Artists used both organic & geometric forms, evolving elegant designs that united flowing, natural forms resembling the stems & blossoms of plants. This piece would look very pretty on display on a bookshelf, with spring or summer flowers in a window or on a mantel.
