Long face vase is a hand built stoneware vase in white & caramel brown.A gorgeous, face cylinder vase, made by our shop member, Opto. This is a perfect cylinder, glazed in half its surface.The front part has a face etched on the clay, a long but not unhappy face.It appears to be sexless , but very interesting.It may be a little different each time for each different vase. The face has a very long nose starting from the eyebrows, which are small.The eyes are below the eyebrows & similar in size.There are beautiful, small nostrils at the end of the nose & a mouth below that. The face on the vase also has a chin, different for each vase. This face was made by scratching the glazed, white surface.The glaze on the vase is milky white & completely opaque.When scratching on the white surface, the undeneath brown colour of the clay comes out & so the features are formed. The cylinder vase has the fired clay colour at the back a deep, caramel brown.It is also glazed inside, but maybe not thoroughly. This ceramic vase measures 40cm in height x 5.5cm in diameter .It is heavy. & weighs a bit over a kilo. A most unique ceramic face vase, very elegant, minimalist & new boho looking.
