A nice hand thrown pottery swirl vase made at the Desert Sands Pottery of Boulder City, Nevada This vase has a tall flaring rim design & made from a swirl colors of blue, black, brown, green & cream tones. This piece has the high glaze finish inside & out but the base is unglazed like that seen on the early mission ware pieces. The side has a transparent label that says Hand Made Desert Sands Pottery - Hoover Dam Visitors Bureau Boulder City, Nevada. Likely the point of purchase for this novelty vase. The unglazed underside of the vase has the black ink stamp Hand Made - Desert Sands Pottery. The condition is nice & original on this art pottery swirl vase. It measures 6" tall by 3" wide at the rim & 1.875" wide at the base. A great piece for your Desert Sands or Evans swirl pottery collection.
