Vintage shipping crate that originally held an Eskilstuna Vega cream separator. The crate has a warm, caramel to light brown color. The Eskilstuna stamp is faint but you can still make it out. This would make a great rustic blanket or storage chest. The crate measures 28 inches wide, 21 inches tall & 23 inches deep. I couldn't find out much about the company - Eskilstuna is a city in Sweden, but I'm not sure if it was actually made there. If you Google "Eskilstuna Cream Separator" you can see what one looked like. I believe the wood is pine - there are two very wide planks on the top. It has two hinges & a simple latch on the front. There are four wheels on the bottom that are easy to remove. It is in great shape overall - it does have scuffs, scratches & some dings & dents, but nothing major. It is sturdy - a simple box but it is well made. The inside is unfinished & has some water stains. It had a paper liner that was in rough shape so I removed it. Depending on the look you want, it could be lined with felt or fabric, stained or painted, or it could be left as is. Due to size, it is not shippable, so it is local pickup only.
