NEW ENGLAND AMETHYST - Deer Hill Stow Maine - 27 x 15 Millimeter Facetted Pear Shape - Made Between Maine & Massachusetts DEER HILL AMETHYST comes from the township of Stow Maine. There have been a number of finds of Amethyst & other gemstones within that mountainous region of Western Maine over the course of many decades. The Amethyst produced has a range of tones from light to dark. The purple color has a hint of pink. Maine Amethyst is much rarer than its Brazilian counterpart. This makes Maine Amethyst more expensive. However, consideration should be made that Maine Amethyst is an American gemstone & a national treasure. This Amethyst measures 27 x 15 x 12 Millimeters or approximately 1 plus x 5/8 x 3/8 of an inch & weighs 30.99 carats. The Amethyst is a medium/dark tone. It's a regal jewel. It faces up well & is eye clean. This Gemstone has been SUPER POLISHED. We're using a 21st Century polishing technique to SUPER POLISH Gemstones exceptionally brighter than what is normally seen by the public. Gemstones can look different under different lighting conditions. Photos may have been taken with incandescent (House) light which shows a pinkish brown background.
