A nice hand thrown pottery mug made by Doyle California Studio potter Paul Herman (1954-2019) at the Great Basin Pottery which he opened in 1978. He previously operated a studio in Reno Nevada near potter Joe Winter. This piece is made from stoneware & hand thrown & glazed with a natural white glaze with a blue abstract floral type decoration. It measures 6" tall by 4" wide at the base. The base is signed Herman & stamped Doyle Calif. It retains an original retailer tag from the Cannery in San Francisco CA inside the lid. The condition is nice & original on this piece with no signs of past use. A great covered pottery vase for your California or Nevada studio pottery collection.
