A fantastic plate made by the artist & ceramist Josep Jordi Guardiola i Bonet (1869-1950) from Gracia (a district in Barcelona) in 1930. A unique combination of a classical motif, old Spanish traditions of lusterware & exuberant colours & ornaments of folk art. The luster is hard to catch in a picture, but be sure - it will add to the splendid impression when you are holding the piece in your hands. 24 cm in diameter. Heavy: weight 600 grams. Glaze crazing (mostly visible on the back), some wear to the surface in the central medallion. Overall, nice vintage, soon antique, condition.
