Polish movie poster of film PIAF, the early life of Edith Piaf, directed by Guy Casaril in 1974, produced by Feure et Martin. Poster designed by Jakob Erol (1941-2018), famous for his strong graphics & enduring artistic style. Measures 32 1/4" x 23". Signed by artist (in 1975, film produced in 1974), has notations of film name, producers, & director Guy Casaril. Strong compelling design in blue, black, & pinkish lavender with large image of Piaf in impressionist or pointalist style. Jacob Erol was renowned for his compelling images of films, often in large, strong images, with a surreal quality. Over many decades he designed posters for films from all over the world, & his works are always artful & timeless. This is the earliest film of Edith Piaf, & it focused on her early years & music. She was a famous French singer, nicknamed "the little sparrow" for her lovely voice & delivery, she sang on the streets of Paris, received some fame in her lifetime, but died early of long term health issues. in good condition, with wear & crimps to edges, some slight scrapes, mostly near edges, with good strong color. No fading, stains, or tears (photos will show a large steel yardstick on left side, & other small implements to hold the poster flat.)
