Saint Pelagia (Η Αγία Πελαγία της Τήνου), hand painted Greek Orthodox Byzantine icon. entirely hand made on canvas with crocus, set in a gold leaf gilded background. It is in accord with the style the tradition & the criteria of the Macedonian school of Agio Oros ( Mount Athos ). Pelagia is a Christian saint credited with receiving visions of the Virgin Mary which directed her to the lost icon Our Lady of Tinos in 1822, shortly after the establishment of modern Greece.
