This excellent marking pencil stand is manufactured by Michihamono of Japan to accurately mark horizontal lines on uneven surfaces of three-dimensional wood sculptures & carving. This tool has two adjustable parts, one is for adjusting the height of the tool, & the other is for the pencil holder. A wingnut is used for fastening & loosening without the need of using tools. Made from die-cast aluminium, making it corrosion resistant & durable. This tool is used with a pencil & is ideal for producing horizontal lines & marking points for shoulder lines & positions of body parts such as eyes, ears, & other similar designs for wooden sculptures & figurines. in Japan, this tool can be used in Noh masks for drawing reference lines. It can be used alongside a carpenter's square with a wooden stand for measuring the height of your wood sculptures accurately. To use, simply place the stand & your wood carving on a flat & steady surface. Fasten a pencil in the stand holder so that the tip of the pencil is at the desired height you wish to mark you wood carving, then, with the pencil tip contacting your wood work, spin your wood carving around ensuring the pencil is marking a horizontal line all along the desired height on your wood carving.
