Description

This gorgeous vessel by renowned master ceramist, Tony Evans is numbered #103. The dark, matte gray pottery base is brought to life by the metallic reddish-pink glaze that flares iridescent copper, like a wave washing over the surface. Evans created original raku art pottery with wonderful textures, glazes, & colors from his studio in Northern California beginning in the 1970s. Practicing this ancient technique, he would fire his pieces in a 2,000 degree oven, remove & inspect the molten glaze, & then plunge the piece into a paper lined trash can, thus creating the broken eggshell of multi-hued luster. The art piece is in very good vintage/used condition. It is signed "Evans Raku" & numbered 103 on the bottom. There are a few small nicks on the underside of the bowl. Please see all photos for condition. We're happy to answer any questions or provide any additional photos on request.
