These modern Natural Battle Mountain Blue Gem Turquoise wedding bands were designed & fabricated in my studio using Sterling Silver. These gorgeous all natural rare intense Electric Blue Gem High Grade Battle Mountain Turquoise cabochons are amazing. The cabochons are channel set in heavy Sterling silver. The sterling silver rectangle ring bands have wonderful mirror finishes. The Man's band is 8 mm wide & weighs 10 grams. The cabochon is beautifully cut & measures 15 mm x 8 mm. The Woman's band is 4 mm wide & weighs 3 grams. The cabochon is beautifully cut & measures 12 mm x 4 mm. I have carefully measured the ring size as accurately as possible & posted it in this listing. The man's band is size 11. The woman's band is a size 7. Due to technique used in setting the stones & the fabrication design of the silver these rings cannot be resized. The Blue Gem Turquoise Mine was located in the Copper Basin area southwest of Battle Mountain, Lander County, Nevada, USA. Production of this turquoise mine started about 1934 & continued until the 1970's. Blue Gem Turquoise is some of the finest turquoise ever found, & unlike most turquoise mines, (in which the majority mined is chalky & only usable if stabilized) most of the turquoise found there was of gem-quality. There is a distinctive aqua color that some people associate with Blue Gem turquoise, although it produced a great variety of colors, especially when intense blue was combined with deep green in one stone. Very little large material ever came out of the Blue Gem Turquoise Mine, the majority found was small 1mm - 4mm "feeder" veins.
