This is an amazing original oil painting on canvas of the famous Portuguese-American painter, Humberto da Silva Fernandes (1937-2005) depicting a Ship at the pier, a Harbor dock scene, seascape. Humberto da Silva Fernandes (1937-2005) was a Brazilian artist known for his maritime-themed paintings. He was born on March 20, 1937, in the city of Niterói, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Fernandes started his artistic career in the 1950s, working as a sign painter & creating murals for public buildings. in the 1960s, he began to focus on painting maritime scenes, particularly ships, & boats. His work is characterized by a realistic style that captures the beauty & power of the sea, as well as the intricate details of ships & boats. Fernandes' paintings often depict historic vessels, such as clipper ships & galleons, as well as modern yachts & sailboats. Fernandes gained international recognition for his work & exhibited his paintings in galleries & museums around the world, including in the United States, Europe, & Asia. He passed away on November 18, 2005, in Rio de Janeiro, leaving behind a legacy of beautiful & timeless maritime paintings. Framed measuring 24" x 29" & painting measures 15" x 20".
