Flint Glass master salt dip by an unknown maker, Flattened Sawtooth (a/k/a) c 1850s. What a wonderful survivor of the early days of glass making in America. This master salt stands 2 1/2" tall. The pattern name was ascribed to this piece by Ruth Webb Lee in her book "Early American Pressed Glass". There are flea bit chips around the inner rim & on the body, but no other damage is found on this piece. This is a must have piece to add to any collection of period glass.
