Description
A tera cotta Chinese Foo Lion. The clay has a bit of pinkish color to it, which may be iron oxide residue. This piece is beautifully sculpted with lots of carved relief work. The detailing is very well done around the head dress & face area. There is a nice two tone greenish color applied, a dark to grass green colors. Then there is a gold gilding splashed on for highlight. The statue stands 12" (30cm) tall & is 8" (20cm) long by 4" (10cm) wide. The piece is in good condition, there are some chips on the head dress & the right leg area. View the photos & if you want more pictures I got them.
