Saint Pope John Paul II, beloved during his lifetime, continues to inspire so many today as a saint. This piece started as a fish-themed commission that headed in a slightly different direction, requiring a fresh start. I had to set aside this lovely sky & water! Just a few days later I received a commission request for a Confirmation gift featuring this JP2 quote, "Do not be afraid. Do not be satisfied with mediocrity. Put out into the deep, & let out your nets for a catch." Gotta love when the Holy Spirit pulls everything together! I added details to further illustrate the quote, & voila! Your print can be PERSONALIZED with a name and/or date to create a unique gift for a Confirmant, Pastor, or other "fisher of men" in your life. Lettering is done by hand, by me, in the same style as the quote. Please include name/date in the Custom Text box if you choose a Personalized size option. This piece was not generated digitally - all words were written entirely by hand on cold-press watercolor paper using archival ink pens. Color was added with watercolors. Prints are professionally run by a small, locally owned print shop on bright white, 100 lb sustainably forested, acid free paper, with a narrow white border. Each print is signed in pencil by the artist (me), along with the name of the piece & year it was painted on the back. Prints are available 12x16, 11x14, 8x10, & 5x7 inches & are sold unmatted. Prints are standard size, ready to mat, or to pop unmatted into any standard size frame of your choice. A rustic frame or wide mat (brown, blue, green) would add a contemporary yet masculine accent to a study or office.
