Thoth's had many roles in Egyptian mythology. He served as scribe to the gods & according to legend was the creator of writing & Egyptian hieroglyphs, mathematics, astronomy, & magic. They hieroglyph for scribe was an Ibis, which is why Thoth is depicted with the head of this bird. He's also associated heavily with the creation & realization of Metatron's Cube, a pillar of sacred geometry. Ode to the ancients!
