This is an amazing & rare find: a gorgeous wooden chest estimated to be 80-90 years old. It is handmade of solid wood covered with tin & metalwork, it is made in the 1930s or 1940s. The tin pieces show the church that has been converted to a mosque, Hagia Sophia in Istanbul. It is in great condition & has beautiful bright colors. The chest is made by a well-known Armenian master Karnik Derbekyan, his tin covers are sought after by collectors. This chest would look great as footlocker at the foot of a bed, you can put treasures inside it while the chest is on display. Also wonder full to use as a sidetable or coffeetable. A great display piece. This piece is from Turkey & has been used frequently, the wood is in a good state NO mold or smell. It is 19'' (47.5 cm) high & 34'' (86.5 cm) wide & 16'' (41 cm) deep. It is heavy, made of solid wood. Two shipping options: Registered mail by ground can take 15 uptil 40 days, is cheaper & safe but slow. TNT which takes 5-7 days to arrive.
