Amazing cast iron well pump with a beautiful, faded red color that could only have been achieved through years of being outside. This would make a great decoration for your yard or garden! The pump is stamped "Monitor" on one side & "Baker Mfg. Co. Evansville, Wis." on the other. This pump is large - 58 1/4 inches tall & 42 1/2 inches wide when the handle is extended outwards (see picture #2). When the handle is not out (picture #1) it is 23 inches wide. The circular base is 9 1/2 inches across. The top section with the handle separates from base. There are three bolts that can be tightened to hold the two sections together. The pump is currently disassembled & will fit easily into the trunk of a car, it is very easy to put back together. The handle does move up & down but I'm not sure if it could be restored to actually pump water - I was told that there was a leather seal that was attached to the end of black metal piece that goes up & down to pull the water from the ground, & that is no longer present. The pump has wear - scratches, scuffs, & some minor green paint spatter. There is a welded repair on both sides of the collar that attaches the top section to the bottom. There is also a weld at the top of the black metal bar - I'm not sure if that is original or a repair. For display, you will want to put something solid - a paver, a concrete pad, a block of wood - underneath it to make it level. I put it on the grass & since we've had lots of rain recently, it started to lean a bit. Even though the two sections come apart, getting this into a box is not possible due to the width of the handle & the width of the base plate.
