「Features」 Origin: FRANCE Artist: Aslan Alain Gourdan Circa: 1970s Double matted in black & gold Gold tone metal frame 「Style Inspiration」 Get ready for a real show-stopper! This famous print advertises the cabaret musical "La Revue" by Helene Martini with direction, set design & costume by Michel Gyarmathy. The semi-nude dancer looks directly at viewers, an ombre array of feathers framing her sides. She will be the star of the show at the center of your gallery wall or behind a kitschy bar. 「History」 Michel Gyarmathy created all the costumes at this time for the Folies Bergere shows. Helene Martini was a dancer who went by the name of "The Countess" & "The Empress of the Night" & later ran Folie Bergere & other night clubs in Paris after winning three million French francs in the lottery. Alain Gourdon was bown in Bordeaux in 1930 & was originally a sculpture & painter who as nominated official army painter after the war. in the early 1950s, he did more illustration work for well known brands like Fiat, Peugeot, Renault, the Casino de Paris, the Crazy Horse Saloon, & Folies Bergere. He illustrated for Folies Bergere between 1953 & 1963. 「Dimension」 Framed: 27" H x 18.75" W x 1.5" D Print: 21.75" H x 14.25" W 「Condition」 Some condition issues, including what looks like mold or dust underneath the glass.
