This lovely rug is lightly distressed/shabby chic with a low pile that adds to the patina and beauty of this hand-woven Turkish rug. Sivas in eastern Anatolia is best known for interpretations in light tones of Persian, especially Tabriz, designs. The pile is usually low and the weaves are medium-fine. They are decorative in the best sense but are actually quite hard to find.
