The Monsoon Palace, also known as the Sajjan Garh Palace, is a hilltop palatial residence in the city of Udaipur. It is named after Maharana Sajjan Singh, who ruled from 1874 until his early death in 1884. He was a member of the Mewar Dynasty. The palace offers most impressive panoramic views of Udaipur’s lakes, palaces and surrounding countryside. It is said that it was built chiefly to watch the monsoon clouds; hence it is popularly known as Monsoon Palace.
