Walking tour of Katajanokka and Suomenlinna, in French with me (Doro) - Meet at the Market Square in front of the waiting room of the Suomenlinna ferry pier. We won't take the ferry right away. We will first explore Katajanokka, the Art Nouveau district of Helsinki. We will be there in a few steps, just head towards the Uspenski Orthodox Cathedral with its golden onions. Can you spot the unusual details on the Art Nouveau facades? Have you heard about Alvar Aalto and his naughty Piece of Sugar?... Around noon, we will have free time on the Market Square. We will meet at 12:30 p.m. at the pier to take the ferry to Suomenlinna. The cruise lasts 15 minutes. In Suomenlinna - Unesco site and home to 800 inhabitants - our route will make a 4 km loop and Suomenlinna will soon have no more secrets for you. We will be back at the Main Pier to take the ferry back.
