About 2.5 hrs from Frankfurt we will cross the German border into Alsace, France for a grape day out along the Alsace wine route visiting family run wineries and passing by the charming city of Strasbourg. Alsace is a charming and humbling wine region loaded with history and its own unique cooler climate wine and rustic cuisine. The wine route passes through charming quaint, walled villages and rolling vineyards set against a back drop of the Vosges mountains speckled with castle ruins.
