I went to Vienna to spend a gap year. I ended up studying music, German, and international studies in Vienna for three years. I completed work toward my master's degree in German at Middlebury College's program at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. I saw the Berlin Wall before it came down and visited both East and West Berlin. I developed skills for navigating cultures of the German-speaking world. I have lots of practical experience. I lived in Vienna for three years and Mainz for one.
