I started learning Chinese in 2013 during my first semester of college. Coming from a non-native background, I found the struggle in learning a new language challenging, yet rewarding. Conquering every hill that came with a new chapter in a textbook became more motivation to me to push forward. In 2015, I transferred to the University of Houston where I decided to make this my undergraduate major. Since then, I have made many personal visits and trips to Taiwan on scholarship opportunities.
