My post graduate experience in mathematics began in 1969 when I was employed as an engineer at Westinghouse Electric Company in Lester, Pa. I was involved in modeling turbine systems and my interest began to focus on probability and statistics. The company encouraged further education and I was happy to oblige them, attending Villanova University at night where I earned a Masters degree in Applied Statistics in 1972. I coauthored several papers that were published in math and statistics journals
