Through this course, you will learn about intersectionality as a vital framework for analyzing and dismantling systems of oppression. We will explore the roles and responsibilities of both the privileged and the subjugated in promoting social justice and equity. This course is structured around four engaging modules: Understanding Intersectionality: Delve into the concept of intersectionality and its importance in the pursuit of social justice, as introduced by Kimberlé Crenshaw. Unpacking Identity in Intersectionality: Reflect on the impact of identity on experiences of privilege and marginalization, and learn to analyze the interconnectedness of race, gender, class, and other social categories. Dr. Kenneth Harding's The Tasks of the Privileged and Subjugated: Examine the roles of the privileged and subjugated in dismantling systems of oppression and promoting intersectional equity. Strategies for Dismantling Oppression: Identify oppressive structures, policies, and practices, and develop an action plan for creating intersectional change through collective action and coalition-building.
