This course will cover all the key fundamentals you need to know to begin finding and booking your own loads as soon as you have your authority active and will help you set yourself and your business up right so you can do better from now on. How to Get Freight Once you have completed all the requirements to finally get your own authority active - the next major thing you are going to need to focus on is finding and booking loads to haul so you can start generating revenue as quickly as possible. This is very important as you will soon find out if you are not already aware. It will have taken you at least 21 days to have gotten your authority and possibly several more days to a few weeks even to get your plates and IFTA stickers. So your expenses are already running and you will very soon have ANOTHER insurance premium coming due. If your equipment is financed you may have a payment due or a couple due BEFORE you are able to begin generating revenue. So you can see just how important booking your first load and your first few loads really is. Beyond all that, to stay in business and to achieve Trucking Business Success is going to absolutely depend on your ability to effectively find and book good paying loads on an ongoing basis from now on. Working With Freight BrokersNew owner Operators are typically going to get most or even all of their loads initially from freight brokers. So, it is important to understand who freight brokers and freight agents are and how they operate. This will help you build your own relationships with quality brokers, communicate better with them and get the best rates possible for you and your business at all times. You will also need to learn how to avoid dealing with bad brokers and brokers who have problems paying motor carriers on time. My name is L. D.
